Why are uric acid meters apparently only sold in the United Kingdom?

I'm suffering from gout and I'd like to be able to periodically check my uric acid levels as a means to control gout flare ups and see what foods and drinks I am consuming are likely the cause of it. I want to buy a meter from a reputable company. Preferably a product that has been tested and has unbiased recommendations. The only Uric Acid meter I have been able to find apparently are all only sold in the U.K. I'm reluctant to buying such products outside the U.S.
