DUI in DC ???? This is my 1st Offense Do u think I will do jail time should I spend $4000 on a Lawyer?
It depends on what your vocation is or if you may consider changing your area of employment later on. First offense dui is not a big deal, although it is very true that multiple convictions after this one can really set you back-although D.C. does not turn multiple offenses into a felony like most states, second and third offenses can be devastating in certain cases. Even a first offense dui can make it very difficult to move into certain careers or may result in losing a professional license in fields such as medicine. It can also cut off chances to join the military, work with children, or jobs that require driving. Here is a law article on jobs post duis: a href="http://www.tandvlaw.com/articles/punishments-for-a-first-offense-dui/" rel="nofollow"http://www.tandvlaw.com/articles/punishm…/a So, keep in mind the long term repercussions because of the placement on your record if you think a lawyer may be able to help you obtain a lesser conviction. Also, look around and price check for different attorneys charges.
